<div>ACS is excited to host a Diversity breakfast event to celebrate the International Women&#39;s Day (IWD) on 6 March 2018. Welcome to anyone who interested in attending.<br><br>At this event, you will hear from Sarah Polhill (CIO of the Royal Australian Mint) and Sarah-Louise MacDonald  (Senior Business Architect,  Pegasystems). They will share their insights into being a successful woman in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.<br><img alt="IWD v1" src="https://acsau--c.ap1.content.force.com/servlet/servlet.ImageServer?id=0159000000FVXCN&amp;oid=00D90000000o5NE&amp;lastMod=1518127873000"></img><br><b>Guest speaker 1 - Sarah Polhill</b><br>Topic: Effective Leadership Strategies for building culture<br><br>Climbing to the top of the corporate ladder is not an easy task regardless of your circumstances, but for women within ICT roles attaining this accomplishment takes confidence, courage and resilience. The ability to implement change, manage a strong team, and lead by example are indispensable skills to achieve success.  <br><br>This presentation will present on the skills required to create a productive and enjoyable work environment, as the people you work alongside are the critical components in achieving success in an organisation. And for women within ICT roles accomplishment takes confidence, courage and resilience.<br><br><b>Guest speaker 2 - </b>Sarah-Louise MacDonald<br>Topic: The opportunities and challenges ahead for women working in technology. <br><br>Sarah-Louise will share with us on the benefits of working in technology with a particular focus on opportunities to learn from and co-design solutions with experts in different fields, disrupt business thinking and deliver innovative change.<br><br>Sarah-Louise will also present on the challenges ahead for women in the industry and the importance of early engagement, sponsorship and mentorship of young women thinking of joining the industry.<br><br><u>Note</u>: <i>IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women&#39;s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first March 8 IWD gathering supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom&#39;s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women equality. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific. Sarah Polhill

Sarah is currently Chief Information Officer of the Royal Australian Mint. She is focused on improving productivity, collaboration, mobility, business intelligence and better knowledge transfer through the delivery of high quality information management and technology solutions.

Sarah has experience in Australian Government ICT outsourcing, shared services, procurement and IT Security, as well as delivering CRM, mobile solutions, and robust technology infrastructure solutions. Sarah is about to complete a Bachelor of Business Administration (University of Canberra).

Sarah-Louise MacDonald

Sarah-Louise is a creative and driven Senior Business Architect that as part of her role working for Pegasystems Inc. implements large-scale, complex business focused solutions on Pegasystems CRM and Digital Process Automation platform for commercial and government clients.  .  

Sarah-Louise has a background in governance, benefits realisation and risk mitigation.  Having previously held roles as the Risk and Programme Governance Manager for the Australian Financial Security Authority, and in engineering and financial services firms, she draws on this background when working with organisations today to assess and rationalise business processes and business operations with her clients.  

With a diverse skillset and background Sarah-Louise holds a unique set of skills that enable her to be one of the rare few that can adeptly straddle the abyss that often divides business and technology.  A capability that is bolstered by her experience in navigating through and adapting to changing business environments, and her strong domain knowledge in Federal Government and Financial Services. 

Sarah-Louise is passionate about delivering digital process automation technology solutions with a strong focus on Risk, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.  She is an authority in all phases of the project life cycle and application delivery with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and business value.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
