<b><u>IMPORTANT NOTICE:</u> </b>PLEASE <i><b>DO NOT REGISTER</b></i> FOR THIS EVENT IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN NSW.<br><br>This is an in-person event to be held in <i><b>Sydney, NSW</b></i>. <br><br>It will <b><u>NOT</u></b> be available online.<br><br>It has been stated in the 2020 edition of <a href="https://www.acs.org.au/insightsandpublications/reports-publications/digital-pulse-2020.html" target="_blank">Digital Pulse</a> that, &#39;many businesses have been forced to digitally transform their usual business operations. Prior to the spread of the virus, 92% of businesses anticipated that their business models would need to adapt given digitisation (McKinsey).&#39;<br><br>Join us at the event where you will be given an insight into how digital transformation or digitisation requires a solid foundation of digital data ecosystem architecture where information flows beyond the boundary of a single enterprise. The challenge is: how to establish such data architecture that is adaptive in nature and enables secure connectivity and heterogeneous data sharing in a traceable manner at different speeds in different formats within the ecosystem.  This session will discuss digital and data concepts, concerns, and an approach to establish an adaptive digital ecosystem architecture for complex and heterogeneous digital environments. <br><br><u><b>Learn about: </b></u> <ul><li>What does the future of data sharing look like? </li><li>As an individual or employee, how do we know that companies are collecting data ethically? Make your way through the tunnel and follow the signs to Barangaroo.<br>ACS is located in International Tower One which is the red building.</i><br><br><u><b>Accessing Level 27:</b></u><br><i>An ACS staff member will be in the lobby of the Tower from 5:15pm - 6:00pm to facilitate access to level 27. Asif Gill

Associate Professor & Director of the DigiSAS Lab at the School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney.

Dr. Asif Gill is a result-oriented academic and practitioner with extensive 20+ years of experience in IT in various sectors including banking, consulting, education, finance, government, non-profit, software, and telecommunication. His earlier professional experience in agile software development, solution architecture, information architecture, information security, and program management provided a strong foundation for later work in strategic data-driven strategy, enterprise architecture, and governance.

He has worked with a number of organizations including Ability Options, ANZ Bank, Bureau of Meteorology, Department of Defence, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DoIIS), Emergency Information Coordination Unit (EICU), Flexi Group, ING Australia, KPMG, Reserve Bank of Australia, Telstra, University of Newcastle, and the University of Sydney.
He has extensive professional experience in leading and delivering agile and non-agile multi-million dollar commercial and research projects. He is also helping start-ups in developing innovative business model, products, and services.

He conducts practice-oriented applied action-design research that targets the challenges of academia, industry, government, and society. He has published 100+ articles including academic and industry articles and books. His work has appeared in major academic Journals: Information and Management, Information Systems, Communications of the AIS, Information and Software Technology, Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Systems and Software; Conferences: AMCIS, ACIS, ICIS, PACIS; and industry Articles:  IEEE Professional, Cutter IT Journal, CIO Magazine, Sydney Morning Herald and The Conversation. He is the author of the Adaptive Enterprise Architecture and Agile Software Solution frameworks.  

He is recognized as a leader and specialist in secure adaptive enterprise information architecture & agile methods. He is a member of a number of academic journals' editorial boards and Software & Standards Australia Systems Engineering Committee (IT-015) and ACS Data Sharing Committee.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
