How do we get machines to listen to music and truly compose the way that humans do? Machine listening involves software that can use sound to locate people moving through rooms, monitor machinery for impending breakdowns, or even listen and analyse the emotion embodied in a song. Is it possible to trick the brain into believing it's feeling music and sound in the way that the human body would respond? Or what if you can create music just by thinking it? In this intriguing, funny and often loud presentation, music tech industry disruptors, Justin Shave and Charlton Hill, provide an overview of the current AI music and sound landscape and a roadmap for audio technology enhanced creativity. Artificial intelligence will continue to impact the future of creativity industries - changing the way we work and how we connect with audiences. It’s time to embrace the machines and work with them. Speaker	Charlton Hill Charlton Hill has over 20 years’ experience in the music, film, advertising and television industries in an array of roles ranging from major recording artist, studio manager, music and post-production audio supervisor, copyright consultant and actor. With a foot firmly planted in both art and commerce, Charlton partnered with international music producer/composer Justin Shave to establish Uncanny Valley - a high end, music branding company that has quickly risen to prominence in both Australia and Asia. Speaker	Justin Shave Justin Shave is one of Australia’s preeminent music producers and musical directors who works simultaneously across the TV, record and advertising industries. With a string of platinum record hits to his name, Shave has helped artists and brands around the world find their sound. He has most recently produced tracks for Sia, Darren Hayes [Savage Garden] and the Potbelleez. Shave has a degree in music, computing science \| pure mathematics from the University of Sydney. Shave has performed around the world from Wembley to Moscow, consulted for music tech companies Native Instruments [Berlin], Fairlight Instruments [Australia] and developed his own software synthesizers. ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.

Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.

Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
