The 24th Australian System Safety Conference is organised by the Australian Safety Systems Critical Association (aSCSa), a Special Interest Group of the Australian Computer Society.<br><br>The theme for the 2019 conference is “How can we be artificially safe?” or how can we be safe with artificial intelligence technologies, including simulations, model-based systems engineering, auto code generation and checking, agile development, machine learning, perception systems and the Internet of Things.<br><br>Are we able to derive safety requirements for such systems and achieve adequate assurance of compliance initially and continuously for a dynamic safety case? Are traditional safety by design programs and system review constructs sufficient?<br><br>The aSCSa invites representatives from Industry, project agencies and academia to participate at this conference to learn, discuss, debate and challenge on how we can rely, or should we rely on artificial intelligence technologies for safety.<br><br>Past conferences were attended by representatives from Medicine and health (medical devices, e-health systems etc.), Transport, Defence and Aviation, Telecommunications, Energy, Security, Resource and process industries, and Emergency services.<br><br>Like previous conferences the two-day conference will be on 23rd and 24th May 2019 and will be preceded by a tutorial day on 22nd May 2019.<br><br>For further information and technical program can be found on the <a href="https://www.ascsa.org.au/" target="_blank">aSCSa website</a>.<br><br><span style="font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Note, separate registration is required for the tutorials being held on Wednesday, 22 May.   • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
  • Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure

Personal information collection notice

By registering for this event, you are providing personal information to the Australian Computer Society. In accordance with the ACS Privacy Policy, ACS collects personal information through registrations and attendances at its events for the purposes of:

  • organising and providing the various professional development events held by the ACS (including for example, courses, conferences, seminars, workshops, launches);

When you register to participate in an overseas event, we may send personal information we collect overseas.
