Libby Lyons was appointed Director of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency in October 2015. She oversees the statutory reporting process that gathers gender equality data from more than 12,000 employees, covering more than 4 million employees. Soon after starting her appointment at the Agency, Libby initiated the development of a strategic plan focused on maximising the Agency’s world-leading dataset and expanding the reach and impact of gender reporting nationally and internationally.

As part of this strategic vision, Libby has travelled to Singapore, Chile, Vietnam, Korea and Japan to speak with government and private enterprise on the business case for gender equality and the Agency’s dataset. She also presented at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York in 2018.

In leading the Agency, Libby is focused on working closely with employers to achieve gender equality and takes part in regular roundtable and speaking events with business leaders and their peers to share experiences, challenges and successes in creating workplaces where the skills and ambitions of employees are equally recognised and rewarded regardless of gender.

Recently, Libby featured in 200 women who will change the way you see the world, as well as Apolitical’s 100 Most Influential People Working in Gender Policy 2018 list.

Prior to joining the Agency Libby had a distinguished career in corporate affairs and government relations, including heading up BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam corporate affairs division, as well as senior roles at Atlas Iron, CITIC Pacific Mining, Alcoa Australia, the Western Power Corporation and Telstra.

Libby has a strong personal commitment to public service, having started her career as a primary school teacher. She also sat on the boards of non-profit organisations SIDS and Kids WA, and was Executive Chairman for Kalparrin, a charity that supports the carers of children with disabilities.

Clare Moore is the CEO of Women with Disabilities ACT, a systemic advocacy and peer support organisation for women, girls, feminine identifying and non-binary people with disability in the ACT region. They are a genderqueer/non-binary person with disabilities and have firsthand experience of discrimination and bias in the workplace and broader community. They are passionate about promoting visibility and inclusion of people with disability, particularly within the feminist movement. They are a part of the Disability Leadership Institute and 2019 Canberra Women’s March Organising Committee.

Clare was the winner of the 2018 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award for Emerging Young Leader.

Lily Viertmann, Chief Finance Officer and Chief Risk Officer, Australian Bureau of Statistics

Lily Viertmann joined the Australian Bureau of Statistics on 2 November 2015. 

Lily has over 20 years of experience in financial management in the Commonwealth and the State public service, managing budgets of up to $6.7 billion. As the Chief Finance Officer and Chief Risk Officer of the ABS, Lily has responsibility for financial planning and strategy, financial operations and control, financial reporting, procurement and contract management, enterprise project management, property and facilities management, policy and legislation, governance, risk management, and planning. 

Lily has previously held senior executive roles with Queensland Treasury, Defence Materiel Organisation, Workplace Authority and Department of Environment. 

Lily has a degree in Economics from Monash University and a Master in Business Administration majoring in Financial Management from the University of Queensland. Lily is also a Fellow of CPA Australia, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a finalist in the 2012 ACT Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

Francis Owusu is a leading communicator, mentor and coach in youth cultural change with a passion for life and people that is contagious. As a speaker he offers a personal and unique perspective fueled by his strong desire to help unlock people’s potential.

As a result of his enduring commitment to the young people of Canberra, Francis was recently honored with the 2013 Australian of the Year ACT Local Hero Award by the ACT Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher. Adding to this significance was his selection by the ACT Government as 1 of 14 most influential people in Canberra to act as a ‘champion’ in an exclusive leaders advisor group designed to develop the Time to Talk 2030 – Shaping Canberra’s Future campaign.

Yohan is an experienced executive with a strong track record of successful achievement of business outcomes leading high-performing teams in public, private and not-for-profit sectors for over fifteen years. Yohan is an Australian Public Service (APS) employee from Canberra. In 2017 Yohan was in San Francisco Bay Area as the Innovation Manager International Operations for Austrade. Previously he was the Head of Governance at IP Australia and National Manager of Assurance Services at Ecowise Environmental, Australia’s largest provider of integrated environmental consulting services at the time.

Yohan is the President of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Secretary General of SEARCC – the Asia Pacific Forum for Information Communication Technology (ICT). Yohan is also an international Cricket umpire. A graduate of University of Canberra, with ICT, accounting and finance qualifications, he is also the recipient of the prestigious University of Canberra gold leadership award at the 2005 Blues & Leadership awards for his sporting achievements. He is currently authoring a children’s story book in his spare time.
