<p><b><img alt="User-added image" src="https://acsau.file.force.com/servlet/rtaImage?eid=7010o000001JOuJ&amp;feoid=00N9000000EVCh7&amp;refid=0EM0o000001MNFK" style="height: 333px; width: 500px;"></img><br><br>World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April is a globally recognised opportunity to raise awareness about people living with autism. </b><br><br>ACS NSW in conjunction with DXC Technology, will hold a “lunch and learn” event at the Innovation and Technology Hub in Barangaroo on 2 April to showcase some of the initiatives, programs and opportunities in ICT for people living with autism. Many people with autism have an eye for detecting patterns in data and an ability to sustain superior levels of concentration, making them uniquely qualified to make exceptional contributions to tech and data teams<br><br><b>Hosted by Michael Fieldhouse, Social Impact Practice Leader, DXC Technology</b></p> <p>The event will be hosted by Michael Fieldhouse, creator of DXC’s Dandelion Programme – an initiative to help people on the spectrum take on jobs in cyber security, data analytics and software testing. <span style="font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">The DXC Dandelion Programme today employs over 80 people in Australia and provides leading research on autism in the workplace. Over 290 organisations across 77 countries have now shown an interest in the DXC Dandelion Programme.</span></span><br><br><b>Panelist: Mike Tozer, CEO and founder of Xceptional</b></p> <p>Mike Tozer will explain how using the Xceptional app to mitigate anxiety and testing for functional skills empowers autistic employees to flourish and  helps employers embrace the benefits of neurodiversity. Xceptional was recently awarded one million dollars as winners of the Google Impact Challenge<br><br><b>Panelist: Susannah Pondekas, Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives at CBA</b></p> <p>In 2017-2018, Susannah led a small team at CBA to deliver a neurodiversity internship. The program was awarded Aspect Australia’s 2018 <i>Above and Beyond</i> award and was recognised for delivering a supportive and accommodating recruitment and on boarding experience for people on the Autism spectrum joining as paid interns. Natalie Phong

Natalie’s HR career spans over 10 years working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia across recruitment and HR consulting.  Next, she spent a large part of her HR career as a Senior HR Business Partner for Bravura Solutions managing the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, Natalie's role at SAP is a Senior HR Business Partner for Australia and New Zealand, whilst being the local lead for SAP's Autism At Work program across ANZ.  Natalie, also leads the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science from University Sydney and Masters of Business (Human Resource Management) from University of Technology, Sydney.

Michael Fieldhouse

Michael Fieldhouse is the Social Impact Practice Leader at DXC Technology with more than 20 years' experience in the ICT industry. He is responsible for the Dandelion Program partnership with Department of Human Services and Specialist (Specialisterne) People Foundation within Hewlett Packard. Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Masters of Business Administration and is a graduate from Advance Management Program at Harvard University.

Mike Tozer

Mike Tozer has worked in the technology and social impact sectors for more than 15 years. Mike worked for 11 years in agile software teams with Crossroads Foundation, a Hong Kong non-profit which connects businesses with resources to non-profit partners.  In 2017, Mike founded Xceptional, a technology services firm that provides exceptional outcomes for its clients and employs people with autism. Mike holds a master in public policy degree from Harvard, where he received the TUYF Scholarship for NGO Governance and a BA in Physics from Oxford.

Susannah Pondekas

Susannah Pondekas

Susannah has a background in the financial services and technology sectors with 13 years at HP and 7 years with CBA. Her speciality is leading transformation programs for operations and sales teams. She has a bachelor of commerce and is a certified black belt. 
 
Susannah’s day joy is as a senior manager with CBA’s Group Lending Services business and she also volunteers on the Steering Group for Enable, the Bank’s Diversity and Inclusion employee network. She cares deeply about using her corporate skillset for good and contributing to programs that make a difference to the wellbeing of our people and communities.  
 
Susannah led CBA’s pilot Neurodiversity at work internship which took out Aspect’s annual award in 2018 ‘for going above and beyond’ for delivering a supportive and accommodating recruitment and on boarding experience for the interns. She will share some insights and learnings from this program.

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
