Understanding SFIA Course - Melbourne

SFIA is an international capability framework designed to support skills and capability identification for people in digital and tech roles, businesses, projects and consultancies. Understanding and applying SFIA enables a more effective talent management and professional development approach to skills. Version 7 of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) was released in 2018 and this course will cover the new content in SFIA 7. This course also provides an understanding of SFIA 7 - design, navigation and usage - to support a focused approach to skills and capability assessment - for both individuals or organisations. Lunch and morning and afternoon teas will be provided.

In an environment of rapid technological change, the critical challenge for business is to attract and retain talent. The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) is the world’s most commonly used ICT skills definition framework - in use by organisations in over 190 countries.<br><br>At both the individual and organisation level, SFIA provides a tool for identifying skills accurately, and developing plans to achieve desired future skills requirements and uplift where needed.<br><br>Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to: <ul><li>Articulate the SFIA 7 framework and business benefits to both internal and external customers.</li><li>Develop skills/job profiles for IT roles / professionals and technicians, using SFIA skills definitions.</li><li>Apply SFIA to align skills/ job design with other benchmarks and competency frameworks.</li><li>Identify and use a range of skills analysis techniques, tools and documentation to produce accurate job profiles.</li><li>Confirm the validity and reliability of a skills/job profile using appropriate analysis techniques, tools and processes.</li><li>Plan and manage development priorities within the wider training plan and HR strategy.</li><li>meet SFIA 7 licencing requirements and understand how to apply for SFIA Accredited Consultant Status.</li><li>Have an outline of changes from SFIA 6 to version 7.</li></ul>

  1. Cancellations must be processed through the website. A refund will only be considered if it is 2 working days prior to the event. No refunds will be given after the registration closing date.
  2. To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) (if required) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
  3. ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
  4. Payment in full is required by the event date in order to attend.
  5. All dietary requirements are considered and catered to in the best possible way for our members, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
  6. ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an ACS event, or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority.
  7. CPD points will only be awarded to those who are marked off as attended and stay for the entire duration of the presentation.
