Hear from US Based CEO, Whitney Million and Chairman, Peter James of ASX listed Aquabotix. Whitney and Peter will share their insights and expertise in deep tech drones and robotics.  <p>Being the leader in smart technology for underwater vehicles, Aquabotix have revolutionized products for use in research, environmental monitoring, harbour management, plume tracking and defense and security.  Whitney and Peter will discuss the innovative and cutting edge, deep tech that Aquabotix brings to the market, shaping the future of underwater technology. This includes the journey of how they transformed technology to be able to be used in a fully submerged environment. </p> <p>Whitney will discuss how her extensive background in enterprise business, has helped to lead Aquabotix into military markets around the world. Peter will draw on his 30 years’ experience as a chair, non-executive director and CEO in a range of technology, telecommunications and media industries. Whitney Million

Ms. Million joined Aquabotix following a stellar nine-year career at BAE Systems, Inc. (“BAE”), a multinational subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, the London Stock Exchange-listed defense and security company with a market capitalization of approximately £19 billion. Ms. Million rose up through the ranks at BAE, eventually leading BAE’s Global Access Program, a program centered around the identification and development of export opportunities for small and medium-sized Australian enterprises. Prior to assuming this industrial strategy role, Ms. Million supported market development and new business capture for BAE by leading activities related to teaming, joint research, intellectual property licensing and transfer, and other industrial issues. Ms. Million holds a BBA (Corporate Finance and Investments) from East Tennessee State University and has completed professional programs at University of Virginia (Procurement and Contracts Management) and at Stanford University (Strategic Decision and Risk Management).

Peter James

Mr. James has over 30 years’ experience in the Technology, Telecommunications and Media Industries, and has extensive experience as Chair, Non-Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer across a range of publicly listed and private companies. He is currently Chair of ASX-listed companies Macquarie Telecom Ltd, nearmap Ltd, Dreamscape Networks Ltd and DroneShield Ltd.Mr. James has recently completed 12 years as a Non-Executive Director for ASX-listed iiNet, Australia’s second largest DSL Internet Services Provider, chairing iiNet’s Strategy and Innovation Committee. iiNet was recently acquired by TPG Telecom for A$1.56B.He is a successful investor in a number of technology businesses in Australia and the US. Mr. James is an experienced business leader with significant strategic and operational expertise. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Member of the Australian Computer Society and holds a BA Degree with Majors in Computer Science and Business.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
