This presentation will cover where agile development came from and how it can help deliver projects on time, on budget with agreed function. It will also provide an overview of the most popular agile methodologies, XP, Scrum & FDD. It also provide some real world examples of how agile can be applied to everyday projects.

About the presenter:
Martin Bauer is the Managing Director of designIT. Martin has ten years experience in web development and 6 years in agile project management. He is the world's first certified Feature Driven Development Project Manager, a popular agile methodology.

Prior to his role as Managing Director, Martin held a variety of roles across a range of industries. This experience includes careers in law, advertising and IT.

The talk will examine various aspects of risk on large scale projects. It will examine areas such as contract management, business risks, development, deployment and post implementation. How business involvement was a key mantra in ensuring ‘fitness for purpose’. It will give examples of the benefits of a risk based approach to a project as well as some unexpected benefits. We will examine how the 80/20 rule is alive and well in large scale projects and how it can be exploited in cost saving.
