3.  IT Architecture SIG - Thursday 8th February

Topic: The Ruby on Rails Phenomenon and what it means for IT Architects
While the top web scripting languages, PHP, Perl and Python, were slugging it out, and Java and C# were engaged in a battle of one-upmanship, Ruby on Rails has burst onto the scene stunning them all.

4. Zero Carbon Network Dinner on Climate Change - Wednesday 31st January

The Zero Carbon Network is a group whose aim is to provide strategies for members reduce their net production of carbon (CO2) to zero.
 
The Network is promoting a series of Australia Day dinners for people who are interested being active in achieving this and doing their bit to combat the effects of climate change.
 
The venue still to be decided will be in or close to the CBD. When I know how many would like to attend, a suitable venue will be arranged The aim is to provide a suitable meal from $10-$12, give a presentation on status of activities to do with Climate Change,  Carbon Reduction, and strategies to reduce carbon emissions.
