Topic: Our theme for the evening is Green PC. Dave Staunton and Simon from the DECS
Computer Recycling Scheme have agreed to attend so that the can focus can be on
what we could be doing to encourage zero waste in respect of ICT goods at work
and at home

4. IT Architecture Special Interest Group - Thursday 13th March
Topic: The
IT Architecture Special Interest Group has been running now for nearly
two years. Recently the co-ordinator has been wondering if
the group could now step up from being run by a one-man band, to being
run by a group of people who could lend their talents, experience and
expertise to further raise the profile of IT Architects and to better
direct and organise the group's activities. Come along and have your
say while enjoying some pizza and drinks!

6. Computer Professional Education Program – Hurry - enrolments close 16 March
Enrolments are closing soon, so if you are looking for
practical, work-based postgraduate education then the CPE Program will be just what you
want. With mentored and collaborative
learning, the CPE Program challenges your thinking and gives you a framework and
the skills to address issues within your organisation.
The CPE Program consists of four subjects: Three core - Business, Legal and Ethical Issues; New
Technology Alignment; Business, Strategy and IT and one elective - Project
Management; IT Service Management will run in study period 1 whilst Adaptive
Business Intelligence will commence in study period 2.
Three 13 week study periods per year:
March – June; July – October and November – February. Fees $675 per subject (or $2700 for the full
program) for ACS Members. Time
commitment is 8-10 hours per week. Study
period 1 runs from 23 March – 21 June. So if you are after a challenging, relevant
and current postgraduate education program which is delivered totally online,

9. Connecting Up 2008 - ‘Online and Off to the
Future' 19th - 20th May
Registrations are now open for Connecting Up 2008 - ‘Online and Off to the
Future’. The conference is to be held on the 19th and 20th of May 2008, at the
Hilton Brisbane. Connecting Up 2008 is now in its 5th year and is a great
opportunity for the those interested in the uses of technology within the
