Speaker: Steve Adcock
Topic: Steve is the CEO of EICTA, the Electronics and ICT Association. EICTA was born of a merger between ICT Council and EIA and has become one of the State's largest and most influential associations. According to its website, EICTA has received a strong vote of confidence from the State Government via a $275,000 grant and aims to ensure that industry bears the flow on benefits of this.
Well what does that mean for the industry? Come along on Monday and hear Steve's views on what EICTA can do for our industry and for us in South Australia in 2009.

8. SA Branch Forum - ACSW Survey - Wednesday 25th February

Topic: Analysis of the ACS Women Members Survey: 
The ACS Women Members survey ran across one month, and consisted of 35 questions aimed at better understanding the experiences, challenges and needs of ACS women members in the ICT industry, and how the ACS can develop strategies to address these issues. 678 women (or 28% of membership) participated in the survey.

9. Computer Professional Education Program News

The ACS Computer Professional Education Program has introduced two new electives to ensure the online course of study remains a leading edge of ICT learning: Enterprise Architecture and Green ICT. The Green ICT course in particular covers Green ICT management, including how to reduce high-tech energy consumption, calculate an organisation's ICT carbon footprint and identify ways to improve application efficiency. Enrolments for Study Period 2 (which runs from 10 May to 9 August) close on 3 May. More information is available online at: www.acs.org.au/cpeprogram
