1. ACS Elects New CEO - Ms Kim Denham appointed as Society’s CEO
Thursday, 31 January 2008 – ACS National President, Kumar Parakala
announced today the appointment of Ms Kim Denham as the new Chief Executive
Officer of the Society.
Mr Parakala congratulated Ms Denham on her
appointment and said her experience across a range of executive roles and ICT
disciplines will be of enormous benefit to the Society.
“Kim is an
energetic and talented ICT professional with experience working within a broad
range of industry and stakeholder groups. Her extensive career includes work
within government, the private sector, the public sector and the community.
Kim’s diverse experience and her strong understanding of the member base made
her a stand-out candidate for the position. She has a passion for the industry,
and her insight into the pressing issues affecting ICT such as careers,
globalisation and professionalism is impressive,” said Kumar. “Her experience
and interests very much align with the areas of major focus for the ACS in
2008.
Commencing her role towards the end of February, Ms Denham will relocate from
Western Australian to the ACS National office in Sydney.

3. Business Communications Special Interest Group - Wednesday 6th February
Topic: The first meeting for the Business Communications SIG in 2008 will be a joint
meeting with Rostrum Club 10. Club 10 focuses on presentations using aids such as projectors, overhead
projectors, white boards, flip charts.
The program for the evening will be:

- Presentation by Peter Griffith.

7. Computer Professional Education Program –

The CPE Program consists of four
subjects: Three core - Business, Legal and Ethical Issues; New
Technology Alignment; Business, Strategy and IT and one elective - Project
Management; Adaptive Business Intelligence*; and IT Service Management*.
Three 13 week study periods per
year: March – June; July – October and
November – February. Fees are $675 per
