Cancellation Clause

Course fees are payable prior to the course commencement.

If you wish to cancel your attendance you will need to advise us in writing.

A full refund will be given if the written cancellation is received 14 days or more before the course starts. If you cancel less than 14 days from the commencement date, a 50 per cent cancellation fee will apply.

No fees will be refunded for cancellations made on the day the course commences or any time thereafter.

Substitution of delegates is acceptable at any time prior to the course commencement.

Where possible, we are happy to transfer your booking to another course. However, transfers made on the day or after the course commences will be treated as cancellations and require payment of a new fee.

ACS reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrolments. Participants will be advised seven days prior to the scheduled commencement date. In these instances, ACS will offer a transfer to the next available session or if preferred provide a full refund made directly to the payee as shown on the registration form.

Fundamentals of Agile in Practice

Course content

This course provides a practical overview of Agile methods by starting with the Agile Manifesto and leading the participants into the details of Agile practices. In particular, this course focuses on the agile practices of Story cards, Walls and Daily stand-ups. The popularity of Agile needs to be balanced by caveats such a scalability and usage in outsourced projects. Composite-Agile Method and Strategy (CAMS) is presented as a practical mechanism to overcome Agile challenges.

  • Understanding Agile Manifesto as basis for current Agile approaches in software development.
  • Mapping Agile beyond Software and at organisational level.
  • Presenting and applying Agile practices (User Stories, Daily Stand-ups, Backlogs, Sprints, Perspectives) as used in Scrum.
  • Knowing the Risks with Agile and the need for balance.
  • Composite Agile Method and Strategy (CAMS).
  • Iteration planning in CAMS.
  • Handling project types: Outsourced, Package Implementation and Contract-Driven.
  • Verification and validation in Agile approach.
  • Practice through Case Study.
