If you need inspiration and support to sustain you in your career here are profiles of some women who have made it. Their stories may give you some ideas on how to go about overcoming some roadblocks and leveraging opportunities.

Anita's Photo

Anita Prabhu

Anita Prabhu is the ACS-W Chair and a member of the ACS NSW Branch Executive Committee. She is also Convener of the Project Management SIG at the ACS.

Anita's experience over 20 yrs spans training and development, programming, systems & business analysis, project management and consulting in various aspects of technology development and implementation. Her focus is on harnessing technology to deliver superior business performance gains and enhancing the individual's IT skills.

Rathika Suresh

Rathika Suresh is the Head of Information Technology in Pymble Ladies' College. Her key areas of work include applying technology to deliver services and promote collaboration and communication. She has several years experience in the implementation of technology based projects and implementing e-business initiatives. In her current role, Rathika focuses on integrating technology with learning and is proud to be supporting the development of Australia's future work force.

Rathika is also a Deputy Chair of ACS-W Committee.

Skye Neilson

Skye Neilson is a web developer and a recent university graduate. Worried about her career, she started designing websites at the age of 19 to "get a little experience" and has since developed her design skills alongside her programming skills in order to become a well rounded web developer.

Having suffered the difficulties of looking for a job after school, and continually worrying about her university grades, Skye's message to other graduates and university students is to not be disheartened if you can't find your feet straight away. Pursue your own dreams, not someone elses and you will find the true meaning of the word "success".

Oanh Trinh

Oanh is a Technical Support Officer for the Faculty of IT at the University of Technology, Sydney where she studied Computing Science for 4 years. Oanh's early interest in computers has seen her explore many different avenues of IT, from aspiring to be a systems analyst, to dabbling with web design and development to becoming a support officer for those that taught her.

Through the tough times of finding a job in the peak of the IT slump Oanh's advice to those looking for a start in IT is to keep trying and stay positive.

Amritha Vincent

Amritha Regina Vincent completed her Masters in Information Technology from the University of Sydney. She had started her career with a Fortune 500 company - Computer Associates. She the moved to the role of Business Analyst cum Project coordinator at Cognizant Technology Solution for Life Science Vertical which is a US based company.

Her passion for work in the field of Information Technology lead her to pursue a lot of freelance work as an IT consultant. She carried out a lot of projects in the IT area for huge automobile manufacturing companies. She worked as a business analyst on different Business Process Re-engineering and also migration projects. She then moved to the role of a Senior Business Analyst at Expertus Private Limited which is US based company that deals with Human Capital Management Solution primarily focusing on the E- learning space. Her experience also includes in the area of business development, project management and risk management.

She is currently working as a Business Analyst at New South Wales Police Headquarters.

Her ultimate dream and passion is to start some kind of business in the Information Technology/Human Resources related area between Australia and India .She is currently working very aggressively towards this goal.
