ACS WOMEN The Power of Mentoring for Women Professionals
ACS Women presents an inspirational panel session to help you explore the importance of mentoring. A recent McKinsey Report identified that one of the most powerful ways to assist women in their professional life is through being coached by a mentor.
In Australia, we produce a plethora of highly qualified female graduates each year. However, at the senior executive level this figure falls to an average of 10.7%, dwindling further to only 2% of those sitting in the CEO’s chair. There are many barriers women professionals and executives face in managing their career especially in an industry like IT. More than ever, we need collective skills and intelligence to help us navigate our career through the crowded and competitive workplace.
In a panel discussion chaired by Yu Dan Shi, the NSW Women’s Board Chair for Australian Computer Society, four inspirational female executives will share with you their personal experiences on how having effective mentoring relationships have positively shaped their career. Do not miss this rare opportunity to network with like-minded peers and enjoy an interactive session with Sarah Fisher – IBM Executive, Pip Marlow – Director of Microsoft, Diana Ryall – ex Managing Director of Apple and CEO of Xplore for Success, Natalie Bigart – L&D Leader for Dell, and Yu Dan Shi – Director of Cisco.
This event is being hosted on International Women’s Day Monday 8 March 2010. Finger foods and refreshments will be served at this event.
We will also draw a prize on that night. The winner will win a MBTI assessment and consultation provided by Natalie Bigart valued at $800.
