Web Technologies SIG
The focus of this Special Interest Group is expanding from Web Services to cover all technoligies related to the delivery of applications and content on the Internet.
The proposed mission and objectives for this SIG are:
MISSION
The ACS Web Technologies SIG is a forum for for promoting increased awareness and understanding technologies associated with the Internet.
OBJECTIVES
1. To provide IT professionals with opportunities to learn about Internet related technologies and standards.
2. To source speakers with experience in the development, use and implementation of Internet related technologies.
3. To provide a forum for ACS members to discuss Internet technology issues.
See below the details for the first Web Technologies SIG for this year.What is Web2.0 and what opportunities are Social Networks, Blogs, Wikis and Mashups providing for enterprises? What difference will it make to business? Come along to a discussion of these emerging technologies.
Iwan Winoto (Software Group Emerging Technologies Architect) will give an overview of Web2.0 and what emerging technologies IBM is developing.
The discussion will include the following topics:

- Virtual Worlds
- Web2.0 technologies
- Mashups - the face of SOA
