Hunter region

Hunter Chapter of the ACS

The Hunter region is situated approximately 180 Kilometers north from Sydney and has a strong and growing IT industry.

To provide improved support to existing ACS members living in the region, the ACS has re-formed a Hunter Chapter. The Chapter provides a focus for regional IT activities and issues and offers local professional development opportunities for ACS members and prospective members.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2003 with HunterTech, the peak IT industry group in the Hunter, the Chapter also provides increased networking opportunities with the local IT community. Presentations are held every few months where you can hear some great speakers, learn about interesting IT developments as well as have the opportunity to network with your peers in the Hunter.

The Chapter is also developing strong ties with the major local organisations, IT businesses, local business groups and educational organisations to promote IT careers and the benefits of becoming an IT professional.

To facilitate networking in the region, we have established an online discussion group for the Hunter Chapter. So, why not register to hear more about upcoming events or have your say on happenings in the region.

For any further information about the Chapter or about becoming a member, please contact Judith Merryweather by email.

Alternatively you can contact the ACS NSW Branch office or call NSW Branch on (02) 9261 4411.
