ACS Seeks New Executive Director
Friday 11 June 1999 - The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is hunting for a senior IT Professional to fill the role of Executive Director as it charts its course into the next century.
ACS President, Prins Ralston, said after a successful four year stint as ACS CEO, Arthur Dyster would be refocusing on his consulting business, but would continue his long association with the ACS in a consulting capacity.
"While we are sorry to lose Arthur as CEO after a very solid performance from him during his four years at the helm, we are pleased to be able to retain access to his valuable skills and experience in Government liaison and related areas."
Mr Ralston said the ACS, for the first time in its 35 year history, plans to appoint an IT Professional as its new Executive Director.
"In the past our selection criteria have focused on business management experience, and while this remains important, we believe that an in depth understanding of IT at the professional level will contribute to the success of the Society in the future."
