The 1997 Australia Prize
The Chairman of the Australia Prize Comittee, Sir Arvi Parbo, has invited the Australian Computer Society to consider making a nomination for this prize and to bring the prize to the attention of relevant groups who may wish to make a nomination.
In 1997, this international award for outstanding achievement in science and technology promoting human welfare will be made in the field of telecommunications.

Nomination Requirements
Nominations for the 1997 AustraIia Prize close on 31 July 1996. All nominations will be acknowledged.
All documents relating to each nomination are to be in English (excluding copies of publications) and in original form. The Conditions of Award must be complied with when completing a nomination.
Nominations should be in a typed format and contain the following details:
Nominee's details
- title and. full name
- current and, if appropriate, former- substantive positions
- address
- contact numbers for telephone facsimile and/or telex
- curriculum vitae of not: more than TWO (2) pages on A/4 size paper
Description of Nominated Achievement
- Not more than FOUR (4) pages of typed information on A4 sized paper
- List and append copies of not more than SIX (6) publications or other written material which best describe the nominated achievement.
