ACS President Receives Centenary Medal
Friday 30 May 2003 - ACS President, Richard Hogg, has been awarded the Centenary Medal for services to IT in Australia.
The award, which was nominated by the Victorian State Government and approved by the Governor-General, was presented to Mr Hogg by Federal Treasurer, Peter Costello, at a special ceremony in Melbourne this morning.
Mr Hogg has enjoyed a distinguished career with the ACS, serving on the Victorian Branch Executive for 18 years, including three years as Branch Chair, before taking over as National President last year.
"This award recognises more than just my personal achievements - it represents a greater awareness of the important role the ACS plays within the ICT sector and the business community," said Mr Hogg.
"It's a great honour to be recognised in this way along with so many other notable Australians who have made a measurable difference in the community."
