MEDIA RELEASE - Celebrating Diversity on International Women's Day
February 20, 2014: The ACS Victorian Branch will host a breakfast on March 7, 2014 entitled “International Women’s Day: Celebrating Diversity” as they seek to encourage employment diversity throughout the ICT profession.
ACS Victoria Branch Chair Michelle Beveridge stressed the importance of International Women’s Day. “Too often the extraordinary contribution of women in the ICT industry is overlooked. This is a chance for us to celebrate those women who are inspiring change and creating diversity in the workplace.”
“We always planned to celebrate diversity in line with the 2014 IWD theme of inspiring change; we regret that we did not communicate our intent as effectively as we could, and apologise for any offence this has caused. Following strong public feedback, we’ve changed our event to make it absolutely clear that our focus on International Women’s Day is celebrating diversity and inspiring change.”
