Invitation to Public Launch of Singularity University (SU) Australian Global Impact Competition

As SU Ambassador, I have the pleasure to announce the public launch of SU Australia Competition by David Roberts, VP and Director of SU Graduate Studies Program at 5:45 pm for 6 pm on Feb 21, 2013@Marquis Room, Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast.
Attendance is free but registration is required.
Singularity University is a think tank located in the NASA Ames Research Centre in Silicon Valley. Every year 80 people are selected from a pool of over 3500 people to attend a summer Graduate Studies Program that exposes the students to exponential technologies and how they can be used to impact the life of a billion people positively within 10 years.

Although it is FREE to attend the SU launch in the evening free food and drinks are only available to paid registrants for the Australian Angel Investors. For those interested to network with angel investors and see some cool companies, there is an optional day pass for $250+GST to attend the Emerging Company Showcase in addition to the Singularity Talk and Announcement which will also allow direct networking with these national and international angel investors on Thursday 21 February and includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

David Roberts is Singularity University’s Vice President and Director of the Graduate Studies Program and is passionate about their mission to educate, inspire, and empower leaders to apply exponential technologies to address humanity’s grand challenges. He wants to help social entrepreneurs to positively impact the lives of one billion people in ten years. David has dedicated most of his life to solving global problems through technology entrepreneurship, non-profit, government, and military service. As an award-winning, high-tech, serial entrepreneur, he has led pioneering startups to in the areas of education, communication, healthcare, energy, security, and poverty. He has started ventures from the non-profit learning research lab that pioneered adaptive, addictive learning to the $100 million funded Kleiner Perkins/Vinod Khosla enterprise software corporation Zaplet/Metric Stream. He was a career officer and executive manager in the U.S. Government where he led the development of some of the most complex, state-of-the art systems ever built and served as Special Assistant to the Director of the largest single information program in the U.S. budget. David majored in Bio-Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence from M.I.T. with a B.S. in Computer Science & Engineering and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is Chairman at HaloDrop a leading, robotic, incident-response company. David was an associate in the M&A group of Goldman Sachs, N.Y., and continues to serve as a Mission Commander in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Harvard Business School, Stanford University, and Berkeley Business schools have all written and taught case studies on David’s leadership, management, and decision making. He and his start-ups have received dozens of awards to include Internet World’s Net Rising Stars, Top 50 Private Companies in the World, Red Herring Top 100 Private Companies in the World, USA Today’s Tech Reviews Best Picks, Internet Outlook’s Investors Choice Award, Enterprise Outlook Investors Choice, Best of the Web from PC World, Red Herring’s Catch, and Apple Computer’s Premier Systems Integrator Award of the Year.
