iAwards Nominations Closing Soon
27 April 2012: Time is fast running out to nominate for the 2012 iAwards, Australia’s most prestigious ICT awards which recognise the country’s leading innovators.
Now in its 18th year, the iAwards is Australia’s premier technology awards program acknowledging the work of the most innovative companies and leading individuals across 25 categories.
The 2012 iAwards seeks nominations across domains including: Society, Education, Industry and Consumer in the Company/Group Categories. Individual Categories recognise the achievement of outstanding individuals including the CIO, ICT Professional, ICT Woman and ICT Educator of the Year.
The iAwards also celebrates Australia's entrepreneurial spirit with a number of pioneer awards including Start-up, Benson Entrepreneur, Pearcey Medal and Hall of Fame and Inspiration Award.

AIIA CEO and 2012 iAwards Chair Suzanne Campbell said the iAwards were widely recognised as a showcase of Australia’s ICT industry which also highlighted developments across all areas of business, economy and community.
“The iAwards provide an unparalleled opportunity for people within the ICT industry to be recognised and honoured by their peers and the business community at large,” she said.
Chair of the Pearcey Foundation, Wayne Fitzsimmons, urged people to ensure they got their nominations in time to be eligible of the awards.
“To receive an iAward is the highest honour the industry in this country can bestow and is a great opportunity for companies and individuals to let the world know what they are doing,” Mr Fitzsimmons said.
ACS Chief Executive, Alan Patterson, said: “Australian ICT often leads the work in innovation and leadership. Both individual and company categories of the iAwards offer an excellent platform to demonstrate world class innovation and leadership in the ICT sector.”
For companies/group, nominees in each category compete at the local level for State honours, with all winners and merit recipients going on to compete for the national awards. Individuals and Pioneers are each awarded at the national level.
The 2012 iAwards winners will be announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at Crown Palladium in Melbourne on 9 August 2012. The iAwards also provide a gateway to international competition, with group category national winners given the opportunity to represent Australia at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards, this year to be held in Brunei during December.

The Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) is an international awards program that aims to increase ICT awareness in the community and assist in bridging the digital divide.
