ACS Welcomes Victorian eServices Register
Wednesday 14 June 2012: The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has welcomed the announcement by the Victorian Government of an eServices Register to help drive Victorian ICT development, particularly in Victoria’s vibrant ICT SME sector.
ACS Victorian Chair, Ian Dennis, said the initiative would be welcome by the ICT sector due to the open and consultative approach taken by the government to improve its ICT procurement processes, leading to a whole-of-government e-services register. “The eServices Regsiter will recognise the ICT expertise and track record of vendors, including SME's, and represents a quantum improvement on the previous flawed panel model,” said Mr Dennis
“The ACS and the ICT sector have noted a welcome emphasis and recognition of the value of ICT to Victoria and the ACS stands ready to continue to assist the Government to improve ICT projects through better governance and project delivery, and ICT professional development and recognition for Victorian Government employees and contractors,” said Mr Dennis.
