ACS CEO Alan Patterson addresses the delegation at the Young IT Conference (YITCon) in Sydney in October, looking at current ICT workforce trends and data, and discussing some of the big global challenges facing the sector including: the 'commoditisation' of ICT skills and education; the power of ICT to overcome global socio-economic issues; and the implication of continual rapid change in technology for individuals.
