IFIP Message of Support to ACS Communities in QLD
In response to the Queensland Floods disaster, the ACS has received the
following message of support from Leon Strous, president of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP):
“We have been following the flood developments in Queensland for some time now and take note of the size of this disaster with some disbelief.
We remember the warm welcome and the great hospitality by our colleagues from ACS and the team in Brisbane in particular, and also the nice places at the WCC 2010 venue, the city and its surroundings. It is difficult to imagine what the situation is now from this part of the world.
On behalf of all IFIP colleagues I wish to send our sympathy and support to all the ACS colleagues and their families and friends that are affected by this.
Although there is not much we can do in reality to help, our thoughts are with them and we do pray that there are no casualties or serious injuries among them.
We hope that the horror will come to an end soon so that restoration and return to ‘normal’ life can begin.”
