ICT industry response to Queensland floods
On behalf of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and
the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the Australian ICT peak bodies
for organisations and individuals, we wish to offer our support during
this time of flood crisis and subsequent recovery. Our respective
members nationally and in Queensland are deeply troubled by the
devastation caused.
Our respective associations would like to offer their collective support through this challenging time for individuals, families, businesses, entire communities and the Queensland Economy. Our member base has a wealth of experience in times of crisis, recognising how the rapid exchange of information through enabling technology can aid the ongoing crisis and subsequent recovery.
We wish to offer our assistance through your planning and recovery committees, providing expert knowledge in the best use of technology. Further, through our extensive membership, we are able to apply this at a national, state, regional and community level. Our offer is based on our desire to see the rapid recovery of Queensland. Our local project officers are able to coordinate this activity at your request.
