ACS Recognises WA ICT Professionals With Fellowships
5 April, 2011: The Australian Computer Society (ACS) congratulates Arnold Wong and Valerie Maxville, for the elevation of their memberships to Fellowships.
ACS President, Anthony Wong explains, “The depth of West Australia’s ICT talent is evident in these newly appointed Fellows and we are fortunate to have these outstanding achievers as part of the ACS.
“ACS Fellowships are designed to recognise the important contribution made by individual members to the broader ICT industry. This year we are delighted to recognise Arnold Wong and Valerie Maxville, who are powerful role models for young people considering their career options. Both have made significant contributions to West Australia’s ICT industry and we congratulate their efforts.
“The West Australian ICT industry makes an important contribution to the sector nationally. West Australia has over 34, 000 ICT professionals and produces an estimate of $6.7 billion of revenue for the state. This year the ACS is holding its annual Management Committee meeting in Perth on Friday 8 April. The ACS is proud to be supporting the 20th anniversary of Western Australia Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards. We look forward to seeing the State’s up-and-coming innovators revealed on 8th April,” said Mr Wong.
