ACS Begins Search for New CEO
13th January 2011: Australia’s leading ICT professional association, the Australian Computer Society (ACS) has engaged ASX listed talent management firm, Talent2 to handle the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer.
The role of CEO will be advertised nationally in mid January 2011.
ACS President, Anthony Wong said it is seeking an executive with strong business and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilise a diverse group of members, staff and other stakeholders.
“The successful candidate should be a proven performer in running a medium-sized business, ideally with a National/ State based structure like ours where staff at the National level supports and empowers our various State branches, Boards and Committees in their many initiatives and projects,” he said.
“We are looking for an individual with a highly consultative leadership style who enjoys working across our many stakeholders, including our elected members, office bearers, staff, government decision-makers, the media, industry leaders and academics.”
Mr Wong said a background in technology is desirable, but not essential.
“We would consider an individual from another industry who has the right business and leadership experience, particularly if they have previously been involved in association management. The candidate would, of course, be passionate about technology and related professional matters,” Mr Wong said.
