Skills Assessment (For Migration Purposes Only)

The Australian Computer Society is the approved professional organisation providing advice on skills recognition for prospective migrants to Australia. Under the agreement between the ACS and the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA), there are two assessments available: Skills Assessment or Recognised Prior Learning (RPL).

Applicants should collate the appropriate documentation as listed in the 'Requirements for Assessment' (os-require.htm) and submit along with the Application Form (os-appform.rtf) and fee to:

Those seeking an RPL assessment should submit the same documents where applicable in addition to the RPL assessment form (recogapp.htm).

Enquiries relating to this matter should be directed to the Skills Assessment Department on 02 9290 3422 between the hours of 12.00pm and 4.30pm (Mon-Fri) 

or to exams@acs.org.au (Monday-Friday). Please note that neither applications nor cash payments will be accepted over the counter of the ACS National Office.

The assessment procedure takes approximately 6 weeks. Applicants should not contact the office during this period regarding the status of their application as this will result in a delay of the processing period. 

*NOTICE* - Recent Graduates

The society does not accept transcripts that have been download from the web, students must obtain an official transcript from the appropriate university ( for more details please refer to "Requirements for Assessment").
