Professional Year Program
You have studied hard to gain the technical skills and knowledge you need for a career in ICT. But what's next? How can you kick start your Australian career in ICT?
The ACS offers a program for former international students who have graduated from a university within Australia and are seeking permanent residency.
The ACS Professional Year (PYear) Program in Computing/ICT provides an additional pathway from university to employment within Australia, offering a job-readiness program to equip you with the professional skills needed for a successful career in the Australian workforce. The program is scheduled for a minimum of 44 weeks to a maximum of 52 weeks
The PYear Program delivers:
- 44 -52 weeks practical training, face to face study and workshops
- 12 week hands-on internship with a host company
- access to networking opportunities and professional development as a graduate member of the Australian ICT industry's professional body
- on successful completion of a Professional Year program specified by the Minister, a participant may be awarded 5 points under the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). Fact sheet about migration points.
