SOFTWARE TESTING
GUI Test Automation Tools in the Year 2010

Functional GUI test automation tools have been available for nearly two decades. Recent years have seen a growing number of new tools becoming available, especially in the open-source space. Established tools have undergone changes in ownership and direction and new vendors have entered the fray.

This presentation will give an overview of the main tool and technology choices available today and what it means for test automation practitioners. The talk will include some comparisons between with the long-established QuickTest Pro from HP and Microsoft’s new Coded UI Test in Visual Studio 2010.
