UniSA/ ACS Roundtable - The Governance of Information Technology: “Where does it belong, and who does it belong to?”

The Governance of Information Technology: “Where does it belong, and who does it belong to?”

PRESENTER: Howard Nicholson CGEIT, CISA, MBA, AFRMIA

IT has both supported and confounded the ‘enterprise’ for over 50 years. What started out as a replacement for mundane and repetitive processes has developed beyond the wildest dreams of those who first introduced it across the public and private sector in the 1950’s.

Much has been said about the cost that IT brings to the organisation, less so regarding the value it creates. As part of this presentation, we will look at where we have come from in our approach to ‘governing’ our IT activities and discuss whether we are any further forward in achieving our IT nirvana than we were 50 years ago.
