Welcome to our new students who enrolled for Study Period 1, 2012 and also welcome back to our continuing students. It is always hard to recommence studies, particularly after Christmas and a lengthy break from formal education - but the rewards are great. Professional Practice subject

The Professional Practice (PP) subject is an essential part of the CPe Program for students who intend to graduate from the course. It is a compulsory subject but costs you nothing to complete! The PP outcomes for a student are:

Understand and appreciates the importance of career planning and continuing professional development;
Completes an ePortfolio consisting of skill assessment and career plan used for personal development and career advancement.

CPeP students are allocated a personal mentor to guide them through PP and we give the student the tools and templates to complete their reflective diary and ePortfolio. Students and mentors work within the SFIA framework (Skills Framework for the Information Age).

PP can take up to 52 weeks to complete and the mentor is with the student for the entire journey. Although it is an extra time commitment with your CPeP core subject studies, the outcomes will be worth the effort.

Students commence Professional Practice in Business, Legal and Ethical Issues and some will commence in their second subject, Business, Strategy and IT.

CPeP Policies and Regulations

We also have an Assessment and Help section which includes grading and assignment policies, plus Student Support which you will find essential reading.

Mentors Required

We need experienced graduates for our Professional Practice subject to assist and mentor students with their career direction and to complete their e-portfolio and journal entries.

Mentors need to be graduates of the CPE Program, with extensive experience in the ICT industry. Nominal remuneration is provided to mentors, plus training and assistance by an experienced mentor whilst learning the processes.

Chifley Business School Scholarship

We wish to congratulate Christopher Taylor on being awarded the Chifley/ACS Scholarship for Study Period 1. Christopher will commence his studies in 2013.

Christopher graduated from the CPE Program in May 2011 with excellent results. We wish him well with his ongoing professional development with Chifley.

ACS Events

Branch Forums and Special Interest Groups are commencing for 2012 and Education Across the Nation has some great events happening this year. Sarah Mitchell on Social Media; Daniel Moody on Information Management, Euan Semple on Social Media and Jo-Stewart Rattray on Information Security.
