Diploma of IT

The ACS Diploma of IT is a wholly online distance education program that results in the awarding of the nationally recognised Diploma of Information Technology. The unique benefit of this program is that you will be formally assigned a leading ICT specialist as a formal mentor during your course of study. You will also benefit from a learning environment where your peers too are highly committed to developing their career in ICT.

When associated with relevant industry experience, successful awarding of the Diploma of IT entitles a candidate to credit equivalent of one academic year of a Bachelor of Information Technology at the following universities:

  • Australian Catholic University
  • Charles Sturt University
  • Deakin University
  • RMIT
  • CQUniversity
  • University of South Australia
  • University of Western Sydney
  • Victoria University.

Completion of the Diploma of IT also entitles a candidate to Associate Membership of the Australian Computer Society (see ACS Membership Guidelines).

ACS Course Accreditation

The ACS plays an important role in assuring the continuing high quality of education for the ICT profession in Australia. To ensure new university courses contain the requirements of the ICT profession, ACS provides an accreditation program. The ACS has accredited over 950 education programs. If you are a school leaver or international student considering studies in Australia, review the ACS accredited courses to ensure your course of study is reflective of contemporary ICT practice. Completion of an accredited ACS university degree is a direct pathway into the ACS professional certification of Certified Technologist (CT).
