The first graduate from the ACS Diploma of Information Technology is 26 year old Ruchika Athukorala from Sri Lanka who graduated in February 2007.

Ruchika is in the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree at Open University in Sri Lanka and already has a diploma from IDM Computer Studies (Pvt) Limited. He studied with IDM and Matrix Institute of IT for his ACS Diploma. He is currently working as Assistant Manager at HSBC Electronic Data Processing Lanka Private Limited. Previously he worked at Colombo Dockyard Limited.
Ruchika plans further studies in ICT while developing his career in the computer industry. Everyone in ACSEducation wishes Ruchika well with his career and further studies.

Manish Kumar |

|
Manish is an IT professional with over seven years experience in the industry. Throughout his career he has always offered the best possible assistance in various areas of the system development life cycle. Manish is currently working as a consultant for a leading fortune 500 company and is always striving to update his skill set to suit the ever changing IT market.
Manish said he found the Diploma of Infor-mation Technology a excellent course to enhance his knowledge on the overall IT sector, not limiting to any specific area. His work experience and the knowledge gathered through additional reading materials assisted him to complete the examinations successfully and in a short time.

Silanka Weerasekara
|

|
Silanka is an IT specialist in the Information Systems Division at Sri Lanka Ports Authority. He has completed a Diploma in Computer Hardware and also in Software Technology at the National Youth Council Maharagama. Silanka has completed the CISCO Certified Network Associated course at Netlabs Learning Solutions and is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in Sri Lanka (AATSL) and Certified Accounting Technician Sri Lanka.
His ambition is to improve his knowledge in the field of computerized accounting and also to update and improve his knowledge of computer software and hardware technology.

Madhura Mapalana
|
 |
|
Madhura is in the garment manufacturing industry and has extensive industry experience in production planning and merchandising.
He wants to further his interest in IT and technology and has been self studying various courses - Programming in Java, and System administration in Windows server 2008. Madhura is an expert in Microsoft excel and Visual Basic for applications programming for excel and has developed many macro based applications related to his line of work to automate order processing and costing which runs on Excel with underlying VBA code.
Madhura intends to move into the IT industry permanently and acquire qualifications to enhance his career aspirations. He has now completed the ACS Diploma of Information Technology and is currently studying for Oracle Certification and MCITP.

Alejandro Arcila Montoya |
 |
|
Alejandro completed his ACS Diploma of Information Technology in October 2009. He currently works at IBM Colombia in South America and he has spent his entire working career with this global Company.
Alejandro has three professional certifications with IBM, a certification in ITIL Foundation V3 and a Cisco Certify Network Associate certification. With eight years of IT experience including six directly with IBM Corporation, Alejandro has also specialised in System Management applications on UNIX and Linux platforms. He is an IBM IT Specialist Team Leader for Outsourcing and OnDemmand Projects. In the future, Alejandro hopes to complete his Bachelor Degree in Information Technology in Australia.

Ejeh Christian Oseni |
 |
|
Ejeh completed his ACS Diploma of Information Technology in June 2009 after commencing in June 2008. He self studied for the exams and with his extensive experience in the IT industry passed all the subjects.
Ejeh has four educational qualifications, three from his country of residence in Nigeria and one from England; as well as the Diploma from the ACS. He is a member of six professional associations and has had ten years work experience. Ejeh first commenced his employment as a qualified electrician, moved to system auditor and currently he is IT Audit Manager with Omega Communication Limited, Nigeria. He is also a trained fraud examiner.
Ejeh’s future plans are to migrate to Australia and find employment in the IT industry and to become a pundit in the IT field. He was recently awarded Certified Professional (CP) status in ACS with his membership.

Herath Mudiyanselage Shashika |
 |
|
Shashika completed her ACS Diploma with a second highest award in Object Oriented Systems Development, Computer Communications and Computer Organisation. She has also achieved the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) qualification. Shashika is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist MCTS) for web based applications =C#.NET and is currently completing the fourth year of a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB).
Shashika hopes to become a web developer and a cyber law specialist.

|
Nalin completed his Diploma in October 2008 and was also awarded 1st top student in Computer Organisation and 3rd top student in Data Management. He has his achieved his International Computer Driving Licence certification (ICDL) and has also completed studies with the National Institute of Business Management, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Informatics Information Systems Pvt Ltd, EWIS Career Training Pvt Ltd, IDM Computer Studies Pvt Ltd and Raytronics Computer Systems Pvt Ltd.
Nalin has worked in the IT industry for over ten years and is currently working as an IT Executive at NKY International. He previously worked as a data processing and analyst officer with Hayleys Group. Nalin's objective is to become a competent partner of a successful team in the field of Information and Communication Technology. |

Shanmugalingam Kabilan |

|
Shanmugalingam is a Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Peradeniya. He is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Building Studies at the British College of Applied Studies in Dehewalai. As well as qualifying in Engineering, Shanmugalingam is an IT professional, having completed his ACS Diploma in information Technology. Shanmugalingam has also gained a Diploma in architectural CAD and AutoCAD and specialises in coding software for resolving critical issues in engineering and also works with AutoCAD providing designs in structural engineering.
Shanmugalingam wants to further enhance his career in Engineering and IT by becoming the best professional he can be in his organisation and also for the betterment of society in general. |

Nilesh Shrimal Piyaweera |

Nilesh has been a Microsoft Certified Professional in Developing and Implementing Windows Based Applications and Web Applications with Microsoft C#.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio.NET since 2004. He also obtained a Diploma from the IDM Computer Studies Kandy in 1993. Nilesh has lectured at the Academy of Computer Science, Kandy and at the Golden Key Institute of Computer Technologies, Kandy. He was also a part - time Lecturer at ICBT Campus, Colombo.
Apart from being a lecturer he has also worked as a Software Engineer at Softlogic Australia Pty Ltd seconded to Softlogic Information Systems in Sri Lanka . Nilesh has over 8 years experience in the IT field specializes in Microsoft technologies. Skills include Microsoft.Net Technologies and Expert level skills in Database Management Systems such as Microsoft SQL Server. His knowledge on software development varies from Hospital Patient Management Systems to Online Shipping Moles.
At present Nilesh is the Chief Information Officer for Hazon international (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka which is seconded to Balancing High Pty Ltd, Australia who is mainly involved in Development of High-tech online applications.

Attanayake is IT Executive at the Grand Hotel and Tangerine Group of Hotels head office and has also worked as a Data Processing Officer at East West (Clearing & forwarding) Ltd. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Attanayake studied with Matrix Institute of IT for his ACS Diploma in Sri Lanka. He has followed the Diploma in Computer System Designed and a Computer certificate course at the National Institute of Business Management. Attanayake is currently in his first year of a Bachelor of Information Technology degree at UCSC (University of Colombo School of Computing)

Tony Whalen |

|
Tony is an experienced IT Professional who sat the DIT exams in Australia in June 07. He self studied for the exams and with his wealth of experience passed all subjects, achieving several top student awards.
Tony has been developing software for over 20 years, the last 11 of which have involved the exclusive use of Microsoft tools and technologies. His focus is on enterprise scale, distributed systems using both Web and Smart Client user interfaces
He is currently a Contract Developer at Renault UK and was previously Technical Director and joint owner of Fortline Ltd; Freelance Developer at Ceadel Software Ltd; and Technical Director at EMS Ltd.
Tony has been a professional trainer teaching .NET development and has also spoken publicly at several conferences and technical events including Microsoft USA in 2004 presenting to their ISVs and Enterprise customers on Visual Studio 2005. Operating at all levels from developer to director, Tony has occupied many roles including Project Manager, Technical Architect and Lead Developer. He has managed and been a key member of development teams both large and small.
Tony is an MSCD and MCAD.NET and specialises in the development and application of best practices for .NET development.

Nilanka is the Systems Administrator at Holy Family Convent in Bambalapitiya, Sri Lanka and oversees the ICT operations in Colombo and is directly responsible for information communication technology-related activities of the Institution. She is also a part-time lecturer.
Nilanka is a 3rd year undergraduate from the University of Kelaniya and is presently studying with BCS (British Computer Society) and for her MCSE. She studied for her Diploma of Information Technology at IDM Computer Studies Private Limited and ESOFT Computer Studies Private Limited. Nilanka gained many awards during her studies with the ACS and other educational bodies. She also holds a Diploma in Computer Studies from IDM Computer Studies Private Limited; the International Diploma in System Engineering from American International Business and Education Center; International Computer Driving License (ICDL) from IDM Computer Studies Private Limited and has also completed the Microsoft Certified course on Visual Basic from IDM Computer Studies Private Limited, plus has a Certificate in Management Training From Aitken Spence & Co. Ltd.
Nilanka wants so pursue a specialisation in IT Project Management and continue her higher studies in IT.
