2009 Young Aus-Innovators National ICT Prize
Terms and Conditions of Entry
- Interested public and private schools are invited to send a two-page submission to NICTA outlining their ICT project of interest. One entry per school will be accepted, a submission is to be sent by a school Principle or ICT teacher;
- Participants must be high school students between year 10 and year 12;
- A group of students should have a total of four to six students;
- Entries must be received between 21 September to 18 December 2009;
- It is important that the proposal submitted is original and represents the use of technology;
- The successful project proposals will be announced on February 2010. Each selected project will be given a project budget of $500;
- The winning group will be announced inJuly 2010
- The winning group will receive a cash prize of $2,500, a certificate and an internship at NICTA during school holidays for a period of 2 weeks. An internship is a practical assignment to encourage students (between year 10 and year 12) with meaningful opportunities to consider careers in ICT. The concept of internship implies structured learning experiences and a mentor will be assigned;
- The 2nd place winner will receive a cash prize of $1,500 and a certificate;
- The 3rd place winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and a certificate;
- The program is sponsored by NICTA and ACS;
- NICTA is Australia’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre of Excellence, an independent company in the business of research, commercialisation and research training. - Once a proposal is selected, a letter of confirmation will be sent out to the relevant school;
- ACS and NICTA reserve the right to ensure entries adhere to best practice education standards;
- The Judging Panel decision is final;
- ACS and NICTA own copyright to use the project outcome or any publicity.
