Project Management

The IT Project Management Special Interest Group (IT PM SIG) was launched in April 2000 as a forum for project managers to participate in professional development and to share ideas with their peers. It is a joint initiative of the Australian Computer Society and the Project Management Institute. The IT PM SIG meets on the first Monday of each month with occasional exceptions due to public holidays.

Sessions are open to members of either association, or to non-members with an interest in IT Project Management. The target participants are project managers in IT environments, and people of all levels of experience and interest are welcome. This is a forum where students of project management can meet practitioners with 20 years of experience.

The objectives of the IT PM SIG are:

• Education and Professional Development

• Peer Support

• Professional Networking

• Encouragement of Professional Project Management Practices
