Business Systems Architecture & Design
Mission
The mission of the Business Systems Architecture& Design Special Interest Group (BSAD) is to enable and encourage the highest standard of information system architecture and solution delivery practise by its members for their employers, customers and their own career advancement. This is achieved by providing a forum where members can share and learn from the knowledge and experience of others.
Objectives
The objectives of BSAD are:
- To provide information system architecture and solution delivery professionals with a networking forum;
- Present expert guest speakers on all dimensions of architecture1 and enterprise solution delivery through meetings, seminars, workshops and talks conducted at the BSAD meetings;
- Maintain a repository of resources e.g. web sites, library and network contact list to enable members to gain access to sources of information, expertise, products and resources which will allow them to enhance their competencies.
Scope of Output
This event focuses on enterprise level delivery of information systems across the full BAIIT model (Business, Applications, Information, Integration and Technology). The scope covers:
- Business strategy alignment via enterprise architecture
- IT strategy and program of work definition
- Requirements definition
- Solution design
- Solution construction governance
- Technical Architecture
- Unit and integration testing governance
- IT governance activities.
This will also include coverage of new and emerging technologies and how these may be applied.
Outcomes
The outputs from the BSAD include:
- Regular group meetings
- Workshops, seminars and forums
- An informal network of contacts amongst members
- Links with other organisations involved in the same or related fields of endeavours
- Repository of resources and a discussion forum.
