Leoni Warne Prize

Over the past 20 years there has been increasing amounts of research to explain the decline in female participation in both IT courses and the IT workforce. It is therefore timely that we formally recognise the work of those researching and publishing in the area of women and IT.

Remembering Leoni Warne

In her professional life, Leoni Warne was passionate about two things: the information systems discipline and working to promote the role of women in IT. To honour her contribution to our field, and specifically women and IT, the AAIS, ACS and ACPHIS have partnered to institute the Leoni Warne Prize.

The Leoni Warne Prize for Outstanding Publication in the Area of Women and IT

The prize is worth $1500 and recognises the best article published during the year in any outlet (book, book chapter, conference or journal). The award is based on articles submitted to the judging panel of senior academics.

The prize will be offered annually, but will only be awarded if the panel considers that an article makes an exceptional contribution and has the potential to significantly impact the area of women and IT. The award will be announced at the Australasian Conference on Information Systems each December.

Submissions are invited from Australian academics or practitioners, working in any discipline, who address any of the broad range of issues related to the area of women in IT.

This is an annual prize, with nominations due by 1 November each year.
