Manager Business Intelligence and Information Systems
• Exciting opportunity to lead the new Business Intelligence and Information Systems Business Unit for the Cancer Screening and Prevention Division.
• The role is responsible for leading the design and implement a strategy incorporating systems support, data management and business intelligence including research and evaluation.
• Extensive stakeholder engagement opportunity at a state and national level.
The Role
As Manager Business Intelligence and Information Systems, you will:
• Lead the business intelligence function and the design of a data management framework to support the Cancer Screening and Prevention Division in achieving the state wide objectives of the NSW Cancer Plan and the Cancer Information Strategy 2011-2015;
• Act as a Data Custodian and lead the development of data standards, business rules, data quality measures, performance measures and systems to support an effective data governance model;
• Manage the data collection lifecycle from creation to consumption in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and standards;
• Oversee the development and implementation of research, reporting and evaluation activities across all Cancer Screening and Prevention programs;
• Manage vendor relationships and provide strategic advice for the development of system enhancements;
• Oversee the on-going maintenance of the Breastscreen Information System (BIS) and the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS); and
• Provide leadership for three specialist teams to ensure high quality customer oriented service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in information management practices, data quality management and/or system support and governance (knowledge and experience in one or more of these areas is highly desirable),
• Proven leadership and management experience,
• Knowledge or awareness of data retrieval and collection systems and compliance with statutory requirements such as health record and information privacy issues,
• Effective vendor management skills to leverage relationships across multi-functional and multi-disciplinary teams,
• Experience with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to engage stakeholders with conflicting agendas,
• Excellent consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to communicate and influence effectively in a complex technical environment,
• Good balance of technical and business knowledge ideally within a health environment.
