Associate Consultant
Detailed Position Description
The role of Associate Consultant, Systems, requires a love for tinkering with Operating Systems, Database Systems, and Applications from a systems perspective. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, documenting, and implementing large system deployments, typically in a team environment where you are considered the Subject Matter Expert. It is important that the candidate has a fundamental drive to motivate, collaborate, and keep composure in high-stress situations.
The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Polished work, including documentation of all work efforts, must be clear and concise, including writing and delivering presentations to the client as well as providing vendor and customised training.
Technical Requirements
• Must have detailed data modeling experience
• Must have detailed knowledge of at least one Operating Environment, such as Microsoft Windows Server (2003/2008/2008R2), Linux, AIX, or Solaris.
• Must have detailed knowledge of at least one RDBMS, such as DB2, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Must have familiarity with at least one Application Server system, such as Apache Tomcat, Oracle (Sun) Glassfish, or IBM WebSphere.
• Bonus: end-to-end knowledge of the software delivery (development) life cycle.
• Bonus: knowledge in Ant and Jython scripting. Python and Perl is acceptable.
• Bonus: knowledge in enterprise-class asset management and system provisioning systems.
Background Requirements
• Must have minimum 1 year experience as a Systems Administrator or Database Administrator in a hands-on capacity.
• Must have a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, or equivalent.
• Must be an Australian Citizen and have the capability to pass thorough background checks and Security Vetting.
• Must be either located in or willing to relocate to Canberra, ACT
