New IT Programme Management SIG:
Looking for peer group interaction and to develop your programme management practices?

ACS is starting a Special Interest Group (SIG) for IT Programme Managers to provide an avenue for practitioners to meet on a regular basis.

The SIG will be conducted in a facilitated action learning style and led by highly experienced practitioners.  It will be interactive and designed to be a place where IT programme problems can be shared and learning initiated.  These sessions will enable you to start a cycle of action, which will support you as the owner of the problem, help you to develop plans of action that you can then take into your work environment.  This method of learning is being used by major universities today for management and leadership development.

We would like you to join us for several sessions this year.  We would like to share one of our problems in the following areas in each session and provide each one of you the opportunity to share your workplace problem.

  • Programme mobilisation – 17 June
  • Project v programme v portfolio management – 17 June
  • Programme governance and organisation structure – 15 July
  • Selecting and structuring the team – 15 July
  • Vendor and contract management – 12 August
  • Concept of Operations and requirements – 16 September
  • Procurement of IT and financial management – 14 October
  • Business case and benefits realisation – 18 November
  • Celebrations and evaluations - 16 December.

We would hope that you would like to share your success stories at the conclusion in the ACS magazine.

Venue: ACS Pearcey Room, L2, 120 Clarendon St, Southbank
Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm on a Monday evening.

As a member these sessions will cost $20 per session, (total $140), which will enable us to provide some sandwiches and coffee.  If you are not a member, the sessions will cost $50 per session, (total  $350).

So if you have a good understanding of project management, are running an IT programme and are passionate about learning more to manage these complex systems, please register today!
