Northern Territory

The ACS Northern Territory Branch was established in August 1983. Approximately 90 per cent of ACS NT members live and work in Darwin. The local ICT community is relatively intimate which leads to valuable networking opportunities, as well as greater representation to government.

Despite its small population, the Northern Territory has made many major contributions to the Australian ICT industry. ACS NT members have been involved in developing systems for court administration, lands information, firearms registration, motor vehicle licensing and registration, and fleet management systems. ACS NT members are also involved in projects such as the Geographical Information Systems and remote sensing applications.
